Radio Wars: Power 105 Gives Funk Flex 'Donkey Of The Day'; Hot 97 Responds

The whole Hip-Hop community was let down last night when Funkmaster Flex failed to play the highly anticipated Meek Mill diss record during his set on Hot 97. Flex posted a flick on Instagram before his set (at 7pm EST Monday night) saying that he had an exclusive from Meek Mill, which would most certainly have been a diss record aimed at Drake – a response to Drizzy’s Charged Up.

However, as the hours passed, we never heard from Flex (besides when he said he was waiting on ‘that email’) and even more disappointing, we never heard the new Meek track. Apparently, Flex spoke too soon about the exclusive and it turns out that he never had the record in the first place, but that he was just told he’d be getting it that night (Monday). A classic Flex move.

The whole community dissed Flex after he pulled this move and more than 7,000 people signed a petition to have him fired from his job at Hot 97. Ouch!

Now, this morning, Power 105 – a longtime rival of Hot 97 – announced that the Donkey Of The Day for July 28, 2015 was Funkmaster Flex. Charlamagne Tha God fired off on the Hot 97 station and Funk Flex, via a eulogy, for a solid 6 minutes. Ouch again!

After hearing the eulogy, Ebro went on air for his Hot 97 morning show Ebro In The Morning, and addressed the debacle. Ebro explains their side of the story and admits that everything they know is just speculation and that they weren’t actually talking to Flex last night – they were waiting just like us. Watch their response below!

So, whose side are you taking? Expect Flex to respond soon!
