We all know Drake has crazy buzz surrounding his name and his music and here’s even more proof for the doubters. Drizzy’s latest single Started From The Bottom sold 96,084 copies this past week, putting the final tally at 1,085,087 copies sold – platinum! In the same week, his 2011 sophomore album Take Care sold 4,697 copies, putting the final number at 2,002,708 copies sold – double platinum! These are both huge accomplishments, so congrats to Drake and his crew!

Kendrick Lamar’s debut album good kid m.A.A.d. city has been the talk of the town for the past few weeks and now the final sales numbers are in. Kendrick’s LP landed at the #2 spot on the charts with 242,122 copies sold in its first week. Unfortunately it couldn’t top the charts because there was no way it would outsell Taylor Swift’s incredible album Red, which sold a whopping 1.2 million copies in the first week. Regardless, Congratulations to Kendrick Lamar and TDE.

 Frank Ocean Channel Orange First Week Album Sales

The numbers are in and Frank Ocean’s debut album Channel Orange has sold more than it was projected to sell. The album, which was released on iTunes last week, was projected to sell 110-125k in his first week, but Frank surpassed those numbers and moved a strong 130,945 copies. This landed Channel Orange at #2 on the Billboard charts. The physical form of the LP is now available in stores so it will be interesting to see the numbers next week. Congratulations to Frank Ocean!
