After plenty of setbacks, Schoolboy Q’s highly anticipated debut album Oxymoron finally has an official release date! In this short, minute-long clip, Q reveals that the LP will be hitting stores on February 25th. Look for the artwork and a new single to drop soon.
The 56th annual Grammy Awards will air on Sunday, January 26th and here is an early peek at all of the nominees. Leading all nominees was Jay-Z with 9 nominations, followed by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Kendrick Lamar, Justin Timberlake and Pharrell, who each got 7 nods.

Jay Z and Jeezy both like to be their own boss and now it seems like they’ll be able to – under Hov’s Roc Nation label. According to Life+Times and X, the two rappers will be forming a new management agency that will oversee specific artists. The specific details have yet to emerge but we will be sure to update you as soon as we know more.
Only two weeks after its release, Eminem‘s highly controversial eighth studio album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2, has officially gone platinum. The LP sold 792,000 copies in the first week and has since sold over 210,000 copies, pushing the total to over one million.

Jay Z’s Roc Nation has just expanded its roster even further, as super producer DJ Mustard has just inked a deal with the label. In a sit-down with Life+Times, Mustard speaks on his future plans as an artist and producer and uses David Guetta as an example of how big a DJ can become.
“What I’m doing now is just trying to convert over and show people that I can do more than just club records…,” said DJ Mustard. “Just growing up and changing the outlook of what people think of me.”

Despite the recent legal troubles he has been facing, Chris Brown will be releasing a new 5-track EP tomorrow on his MechanicalDummy website. The project is titled X Files and it will likely contain records that didn’t make the final cut for his upcoming album X, which still doesn’t have a trustworthy release date. Eminem continues to make history, as his new album The Marshall Mathers LP 2 makes the seventh consecutive number one album of his legendary career. The album actually sold more than projected (700,000 and 750,000), by selling 792,000 copies in its first week of release. Platinum is right around the corner! Congrats Marshall!
As you know, or may have forgot, Fabolous’ Loso’s Way 2 album was supposed to drop earlier in the year but it obviously suffered a major delay. The good news is that Loso has decided to give us the third installment of his Soul Tape mixtape series before the album. We can expect this to drop in or around December.

Only one month after the release of his third studio album Nothing Was The Same, Drake has earned himself yet another plaque to add to the wall because that very album has now gone platinum! The LP was pushed over 1 million copies sold after selling 38,274 copies this week. Congrats to Drake and his crew!
As part of his partnership with Barneys New York, Jay Z will be launching a new fragrance for men called Gold on November 29th at specialty department stores throughout the US. The cologne bottle and the packaging look very exquisite but the scent is what sells, so we’ll have to wait for it to hit stores before judging.
Jay Z’s fragrance licensee, Donald J. Loftus said: “We are going to make a big noise. For the 30 days before Christmas, it will be impossible not to know he has a fragrance.”
The prices range from $39 to $70 for three different sized bottles and there are also gift packages that include deodorant and shower gel along with the fragrance. Read more
